What is 350 Sacramento?

Local Action for a Global Climate Justice Movement

350 Sacramento is a grassroots climate justice organization. Our goal is a future where everyone can have clean air, clean energy, and a safe, healthy environment. For more than a decade, we’ve been driving change in the Sacramento area through advocacy, education, and the power of community.

How to Support Climate Justice

Cornerstone Programs

Climate Action Plans (CAP)

The CAP Team helps ensure our local leaders are acting in the best interest of the community, climate, and future. They do this by engaging with City and County Climate Action Plans throughout the region.

Youth Education Program

Young people are preparing for a future in climate justice, and we’re here to help. To this end, our education programs offer trainings, internships, and mentorship for local students.

Electrify Sacramento

The Electrification Team aims to reduce air pollution by advocating for electric-powered alternatives to gas and oil. Additionally, SMUD Watch engages our publicly owned electric utility (SMUD) to hold them accountable for their clean energy goals.

Advocacy & Policy

The Legislative Team studies various environmental proposals and policies at the local and state level. With this information, 350 Sacramento can better advocate for climate justice through events, outreach, and education.

Anushka Kalyan 350 Sacramento Board VP

“While youth action is often heralded as the catch-all solution to the climate catastrophe, young people’s work stands on the shoulders of giants. We owe our inspiration and education to all those who paved the way for us to continue passing policy, chanting in the streets, and making change – and it’s up to my generation to keep this cycle alive.”

– Anushka Kalyan, Climate Justice Activist & Vice President of 350 Sacramento Board of Directors

Core Message

No matter our backgrounds or beliefs, we all want a healthy life, a safe home, and a positive future.

However, for too long, oil and gas tycoons (and their politicians) have tried to distract using scapegoats and misinformation. All the while, they continue to pollute, extract, and exploit for profit.

As our community has shown time and time again, when we work together, big things can (and do!) happenWe are committed to building a better future, together. And we will not stop until all people can breathe clean air and live healthy lives in a sustainable world.
