350 Sacramento is helping the Cosumnes Community Service District (CCSD) develop a District Climate Policy.
CCSD provides fire, rescue, emergency medical, and parks & recreation services to Elk Grove, Galt, and South Sacramento County. It also operates eight fire stations, almost 100 parks, two aquatic centers, and other recreational facilities. Climate change is already affecting these responsibilities.
350 Sacramento commented on a CCSD draft climate action plan at a Board meeting on October 7 at which the District Board directed staff to draft a Climate Policy in consultation with 350 Sacramento. 350 Sacramento and partner SacEV Association representatives met with CCSD staff on November 13, providing technical input on electrifying facilities and vehicle fleets, and will continue to participate in drafting the Policy. Our October 7 written comments are posted here.
