After a year in development, 350sacramento.org is ready to sport its new design. While the first few weeks will entail a bit of live testing and fine-tuning, the new website should be ready for an official launch by the end of the month!

Web Design: The Inside Scoop

Why the Change, and Why Now?

350 Sacramento New Website Blog - Old WebsiteOur hearty and mighty website has served us well for more than a decade. (Check out the Internet Archives to see the many iterations over the years.) In fact, much of its content is still right here, available for everyone to continue enjoying and sharing! However, with some of its legacy software no longer supported, it was time for an update. This new framework will allow us to take advantage of modern features, functions, and security mechanisms that were no longer available with the original toolset.

What’s New

350 Sacramento New Website Blog - NEW WebsiteThis update reflects the information, structure, and status of our current organization and programs as we move into 2025 and beyond. The navigation is intended to make it easier for new visitors to find the information they need, while still providing a familiar content experience for our long-term community members.

A Look Under the Hood

We are continuing to use the WordPress content management system (CMS), albeit with a new theme. This should make the website faster and easier to revise and build upon as needed. In turn, our visitors will have a better opportunity to find the most up-to-date information about 350 Sacramento programs, events, and opportunities.

Ongoing Project

The new website will be a living, breathing document for all things 350 Sacramento. We invite you to take a look around to get a feel for the new digs. You can also fill out the website feedback form if there is anything that needs to be changed, updated, or added.

This process has been a labor of love and a team effort. We’d like to thank our beta testers, and all the volunteers who helped us build out the site with the latest information about our programs and achievements. Your ongoing support, updates, and feedback have been a crucial part of this massive project, and we are proud to (finally!) be able to launch the updated website for everyone to enjoy.
