Sacramento's Transportation Planning Manager, Jennifer Donlon Wyant presented the City of Sacramento Transportation Priorities Plan on Monday night. To give you an idea of the monumental task of planning, there are about 700 planned projects, but our current City budget falls far short of the goal to realize all of them requiring roughly 5 billion dollars and several decades to complete. The Sacramento Priorities Plan attempts to remedy this planning problem by allocating funds appropriately. To determine which aspects of the plan to prioritize, the team leverages data by surveying a broad range of Sacramento area residents. for more on this, check out the recording, and feel free to share!

We appreciate Jennifer and our co-hosts: Environmental Council of Sacramento (ECOS), Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates (SABA), SacMoves, and additional thanks to Sacramento Metro Advocates for Rail and Transit (SMART)! for fielding so many important questions and we plan to deepen our understanding of building a better transportation system.

CAP Team Meeting

CAP Goes to Supervisors- The County Planning Commission split on what to do with the CAP, so it goes to Supervisors without a recommendation. No date is set for Supervisor review. Twenty-nine people commented by phone, 25 of whom urged the Commission to remand the CAP to staff. 350 will consider options, including legal, to prevent this bogus CAP from being adopted, or if adopted from going into effect.

* Beta testers of Tesla's new self-driving software will describe their experiences.
* PG&E will follow up with what's new in the world of EVs and the grid.

Regional Adaptation Event

California Community Economic Development Association (CCEDA) is inviting our network to participate as a Cooperating Organization for the Sacramento Valley Regional Climate Adaptation Seminar on Friday, November 19th, 2021 at 1PM PST. CCEDA's Sacramento Valley Regional Seminar is hosted virtually sponsored by Pacific Premier Bank. Cooperating organizations can benefit by having their logo on the flyer and marketing materials. Skill Up with 350

We invite members of all 350 affiliates and their network to participate in a series of five online trainings geared to prepare members to organize and campaign with resiliency and power. The trainings are free, and last 2 hours. Slides and other resources are provided to support local trainings. Participate in any or all.

Saturday, Nov 20th - Organizing and Movement Building: Why build a movement? How to recruit, engage, and onboard new volunteers, develop volunteer leadership, and build community.
Saturday, Dec 4th - Strategic Campaigning: How to choose a campaign, map out decision makers, allies and opponents, plan campaign goals, timeline, and roles, and select effective tactics using a justice and equity lens.
Saturday, Dec 18th - Policy Advocacy: How to advocate, how legislative bodies work, and how to influence elected officials--with examples from local affiliates to demonstrate common tactics and best practices.
