We hope you are doing well in the new year! Thanks for your involvement, donations and for elevating your voice to show you care about climate impacts on people, on clean air, water and the unstable environment the new generations will inherit. We are seeing ever increasing interest in climate action and local support because of your engagement in 350 Sacramento's efforts, so Thank You!
Our newsletters will continue to distill the latest information around local policy discussions, team meetings and events. We invite your participation in any and all of them! Just remember to take care of yourself and don't burn out : )

Sac County CAP - Progress!
We're enjoying several preliminary but notable County Climate Action Plan (CAP) victories. None assure an acceptable CAP, but they do avoid the deplorable September "final" draft CAP being presented to the Supervisors for approval, and provide opportunities for further advocacy. All reflect our formal comments, those of our partners, and our direct advocacy with County Supervisors. In summary:
- The County is redrafting the CAP to address comments on the previous "final" draft. Publication in February will be followed by 30-day public review.
- The draft will then be subject to a March Board of Supervisor's workshop to receive public comment. No vote will be taken at that time.
- The County has established a Sustainability Officer position in the office of the County Executive, responsible for (among other things) overseeing CAP implementation.
- The Sustainability Officer will convene a "Climate Emergency Task Force" as called for in the County's 2021 Climate Emergency Declaration. The relationship between the CAP and the Task Force is unclear.
