Climate change is accelerating rapidly and so is our movement!! Check out the calendar below—local climate action is happening on all fronts, organized by numerous organizations. We want to spotlight the new 350 Elk Grove and not-so-new 350 Placer, plus Sunrise Sacramento, Fridays For Future Sacramento, Sac DSA, Green Tech, Move to Amend, Citizen’s Climate Lobby, Sac Climate Coalition, Sierra Club Sacramento, Indivisible, Extinction Rebellion, Sacramento Poor People’s Campaign, and many others. While each of these groups has its own mission and culture, we are working together to amplify our message: we’re in a climate emergency and need to act immediately!!
The week of Sept 20–27 will be a Global Week of Action, kicked off by a youth-led strike on September 20, in which everyone is urged to participate. Prepare for the week with an Office Visit Training on Sept 8, a Volunteers Meeting on Sept 10, and an Art Build on Sept 15. Talk with friends, family, colleagues, neighbors and encourage each person to bring 10 friends to the Sept 20 strike. We’re making progress, now let’s step it up! Check this page often!
Global Week of ACTION & pre/post actions!!
Youth are leading a #climatestrike to 1) declare a climate emergency, 2) keep fossil fuels in the ground, and 3) usher in a Green New Deal. Let’s join together to show our community, our politicians, and the world that we are ready to create a new, fair, and sustainable world that works for everyone. We need bold leadership to correct course away from climate collapse and toward a green and just future. It’s up to us. The time is now.

Join Sunrise Sacramento and 350 Sacramento for a fun training about how to meet with your legislators, tell your story, and make an effective ask. • Sept 24: Climate Emergency Declaration. We’re going to the Sacramento City Council to ask for a Climate Emergency Declaration. Details to come.
• Sept 20–27: Visit your federal, state, and local officials.
