Electrify for Clean Energy
Whether it’s public utilities, policies, educational workshops, or youth-led school electrification projects, 350 Sacramento is committed to pursuing equitable solutions for clean energy that will benefit communities and the climate.
Why is electricity better than gas? Click here to find the answer!
Electricity pairs with clean and renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and hydro power. By contrast, gas, oil, and coal – collectively known as fossil fuels – are proven drivers of climate change, due to the high amount of carbon dioxide (and other toxins) produced when they’re burned for energy.
Electrifying buildings, transportation, and industrial processes will reduce pollution, improve air quality, increase public health, and protect the environment.
Electrification Teams & Programs
Electrify Sacramento
The Electrification Team engages the community and advocates for policies that will reduce emissions quickly and connect to fossil-free energy sources.
Electric Schools
This youth-led effort to electrify school buses and buildings helped spark a district-wide movement to adopt cleaner transportation and infrastructure solutions.
SMUD Watch
SMUD Watch engages the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) to share timely alerts and promote action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“Investing in clean energy — in every region, in every home — is how we truly power this great country… Electrification is what is possible – now – to give more people access and opportunity. So let’s get it done.”
