Newsletter: August 5 -12

Though institutions continue to underestimate the impact of drought and climate chaos, 350 Sacramento is doubling down on its efforts for smarter policies to ensure a future worth living. Events and opportunities for participation appear below. Our amazing Climate Action Plan (CAP) Team is watching for the County Climate Action Plan draft coming out in late August. Thanks again to our members for your actions, support, and help!

Thank you! Strong CAP Petition Sent to Supervisors

Thank you to everyone who signed the Climate Action Plan (CAP) petition, which the CAP Team has sent to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. Sacramento County will soon release its CAP final draft, which we expect the County Planning Commission to hear in late August.  We will review the plan carefully, and if the County continues to fail to meaningfully reduce greenhouse-gas emissions we will again ask our members and friends to intervene.

Partnership with Refill Madness!

Refill Madness is a Soap Refillery and Zero Waste Shop run by a family of three and a staff of five dedicated to the health of their customers and the planet. Besides removing tons of plastic from our waste stream, they also educate the community and challenge “throw-away” culture. You can purchase goods by weight or packaged in reusable, biodegradable, and eco-friendly containers, decreasing our carbon and plastic footprint. Next time you go you might see the 350 Sac flyer there! The shop is located at 1828 29th St, Sacramento, CA 95816.
